Business Development is the voice and initial point of contact for our company. You will use your sales skills to rent and sell specialty engineered power supply and climate control solutions, such as diesel generators, heating and air-conditioning equipment. We'll rely on you to use your sales and communication skills to understand the needs of all interested parties and turn them into loyal customers. You must be ambitious and outgoing, with a love for calling on customers, building relationships and selling our equipment and services.
You will be expected to:
• Generate revenue with a select group of companies within the industrial segment through quality customer service and a strong understanding of specialty engineered rental products to include diesel generators, air-conditioning, electric heat, load banks and electrical distribution
• Daily account management and revenue growth through visits to various customer offices, facilities, and job sites.
• Develop, plan and organize sales strategies to achieve desired results/goals.
• Identify customer’s needs and react appropriately while understanding the market conditions and local competitors pricing.
• Resolve customer issues and concerns.
• Work with technical staff to provide customers with job site assessments, application solutions and plans, equipment sizing, professional quote writing, credit authorization assistance, problem resolution, and follow-through
• Assist the operations staff by following up with customers on invoices and payments
• Report sales activity on new accounts, revenue, utilization, calls, etc., using sales tools
Knowledge, Skills and Experience You Must Rely On include:
• Proven track record with 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience within the industrial market and/or heavy equipment industry preferred
• Ability to successfully think and plan ahead
• Strong customer focus with the ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner
• Solid computer skill set (knowledge of MS Office is preferred)
• Strong team player; works and communicates effectively with all levels of the company
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of construction or related equipment is preferred; however, candidates with comparable industry experience, a strong sales acumen and record of achievement will also be considered
• Equipment troubleshooting skills and diagnostic skills a plus
• Possess strong negotiation and selling skills, and excellent customer service skills
• Strong presentation and excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
• Possess knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic and other systems
• Ability to work independently
