Location: Vernon Hills, IL (On-site)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (7 AM – 5 PM)
Compensation: $70,000 – $150,000+ (Base + Performance Bonuses)
We are expanding and seeking an experienced Hazmat Dispatcher to join our fast-growing operations team. We operate a new model fleet and specialize in time-sensitive, high-value freight. We will train the right candidate, but hazmat or OTR dispatch experience is strongly preferred.
🔹 Responsibilities
-Dispatch and manage daily loads for hazmat and non-hazmat drivers
-Monitor driver locations, transit times, weather, delays, and compliance
-Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers and brokers
-Negotiate rates with brokers and secure high-yield loads
-Coordinate pickup/delivery appointments, load tenders, and paperwork
-Maintain accurate tracking in TMS, sheets and load boards
-Provide ongoing support during breakdowns, route changes, or emergencies
-Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and hazmat regulations
-Work closely with Safety, Maintenance, and Accounting teams
-Maximize weekly revenue and RPM across all assigned trucks
🔹 Requirements
-Experience in trucking dispatch, hazmat preferred
-Strong negotiation skills + load board experience (DAT, Truckstop, etc.)
-Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent communication and driver-management skills
-Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and reliability
-Ability to handle after-hours emergencies when needed
-Hazmat knowledge (training provided if needed)
