Refinished Trunk
This antique trunk was refinished in the late 1960's by my dad. He did several trunks that he then gave to family & friends back then. This one he lined on the inside because he made it to store all the family record albums when I was a kid.
Since then, the original leather handles finally gave way and will need to be replaced.
He stripped the paint & varnish and then he hand painted the metal & refinished the wood slats.
It was originally from around the turn of the century; late 1800s, early 1900s, but I don't know exactly when it was made.
It's a smaller size. It's just big enough for 33 1/3 Record Albums (holds about 100 of them, if I remember correctly).
Great round top steamer trunk with rich stained wood slats.
Green & black metal sides & top
Sturdy & in good shape.
It's on extremely well made metal castors.
The hinge needs to be replaced.
It's dusty on the top but a damp rag will fix that.
It's clean on the inside.
