This is a 70's turntable from a reputable Japanese company - JVC. This is a semi-automatic turntable. You have to cue it up to start first track and it will automatically pick up the tone arm after the last song on the album and return it to the arm rest and shut off. I replaced the cartridge with a brand new Audio Technical cartridge with new needle. This should be good for another 2000 records! The speed was checked and is spot on. It is a belt drive and I installed a brand new belt in it.
