$2,700.00 or Best Offer! Apparently sold by the Marshall Field Department Store in Chicago, late 1969 and early 70's, offered as a children's scooter with the name "kangaroo scooter". Kangaroo scooters were built in Taiwan for a company based in Concord, California. It had the eccentric rear wheel, a front caliper brake, chrome fenders, and a kickstand. This super rare scooter is a re-imagining of a design which originated in 1928. The eccentric-hub is powered by the rider bouncing up and down on the platform and using their momentum to drive the off-center rear wheel. With its dynamic form, the styling is reminiscent of the famous Schwinn Sting Ray "California" bikes, however the Kangaroo scooter is far more uncommon. This specimen is in very good condition (some dings and dents on the rear fender) and appears entirely original. Being offered as part of an estate sale. Please refer to the many photographs attached for conditional detail. Measures approximately 42"H X 65"L Local pick-up is strongly preferred. Any pack and ship would be at buyers' arrangement at buyer expense.
