The 1988 model year Trek 770 was only available as a frame set (unlike in previous years). This frame was originally ordered and owned by a Trek executive who had the frame painted in this vibrant neon yellow (fluorescent) at the Waterloo, WI handmade factory making this possibly the only 770 frame to wear this original factory color, then built up with Campagnolo Record components.
The bike was just freshly refurbished by our shop keeping its time-period aesthetics in mind. Over $800 worth of work just completed including new tubular tires,
re-cabling, handlebar tape, etc.
Nearly a time-capsule bike. The paint does have a few touched up spots covering normal nicks. The "770" painted markings on the seat tube are absent - possibly by direction of the original owner. It does not appear that there ever was a decal in place as the other Trek markings are under the original clear coat.
