Assistant Seamstress (Roselle)
compensation:
You will be paid per completed task (cash), based on how long it would typically take me to complete that task. The wage is intended to be set around 15 dollars/hr but this will be highly dependent on how fast you are.

This is a very casual gig, I'm a solo artist running a small costume bisuness from home but wanting some extra help to mitigate my wrist pain. You will be hand sewing small-medium sized pieces of faux fur together. I will be sure to leave instructions and a guide on where to sew what and in what order so that it will be easy for you to follow when working from your home. I would like to give you a demo when you pick up the peices and tools/supplies because I'm quite particular about how it's done, but it's very easy to do once you know how and can be quite fun/relaxing!
This is a part time (10 or less hours a week) and temporary gig. This is my first time trying something like this out so there may only be a couple assignments.
I would prefer if you lived close to the roselle area for convenience.
Gig Overview:
- you will work from home, except for initial briefing/intructions + supply pickup which will be done at my house (this is flexible if you prefer to meet somewhere public or at your house)
- You will need to come pick up the fabric peices for each assignment and then return them to me once completed. This means you will likely be stopping by at my house up to a couple times each week
- you're task will primarily be to sew peices of fur together by hand, though if you are interested in extra tasks I'm open to teaching you fabric cutting/tracing and fur shaving as well.
- all tools, supplies, instructions, and training will be supplied
The perfect candidate:
- has some form of sewing experience or is artistically inclined
- is interested in costume making/sewing
- lives near the roselle area and/or is willing to drive frequently
- lives in a non smoking, no pets household (to prevent any hair or smoke smells from getting on to the project)
