The “S” in FX50S means it’s been beefed up with the Sport package. The front seats are replaced with sportier thrones that have adjustable bolsters for the driver. Rear-wheel steering, which gives the back tires a one-degree range of motion, is included, as are an adaptive suspension and dark-tinted chrome exterior trim. The manually adjustable xenon headlights are replaced with swiveling, auto-leveling units that also get a darker look. Without even taking the dynamic changes into account, the Sport pack takes the aggressive looks and turns them sinister, and the darker accents nicely complement the pearlescent white paint.
It makes all the right noises as it propels the 4600-plus-pound AWD FX from a standing start to 60 mph in just five seconds flat (yes 0-60 in 5.1 secs)

LDW
(lane-departure warning):
It beeps when the cameras mounted in the side mirrors detect tires drifting over lane markings.
LDP
(lane-departure prevention):
Activated by a steering-wheel button, it brakes the rear wheels individually to nudge the FX back on track. On straight and empty roads, LDP nearly allows for hands-free driving, but it can’t quite compensate for crowning or a forceful crosswind.
ICC
(intelligent cruise control):
Our typical experience with smart cruise systems results in cursing the crude manner in which the gas and brake are managed, followed by our turning off the system altogether. This is not the case with the FX. Jump into a lane right behind a slightly faster vehicle and the ICC does exactly what we would do—back off on the throttle until a suitable gap is achieved.
DCA
(distance-control assist):
It handles stop-and-go traffic situations that are too slow to warrant the use of cruise control. When sensors detect the car in front slowing down, the system pushes back on the gas pedal, letting the driver know the system is active. From that point on, DCA will manage the brakes all the way to a dead stop or keep working for low-speed creeping. Stop for a couple seconds and the system shuts off, requiring an attentive application of the brake pedal.
IBA
(intelligent brake assist):
This system will partially apply the brakes for you if you insist on trying to crash.
AFS
(adaptive front lighting system):
It swivels the headlights up to 17 degrees during cornering for better illumination
