These are a stunning sounding pair of Klipsch Theater Speakers. These are hybrid speakers with a powered subwoofer shooting out the side of the left and right mirror imaged pair. The horn and midrange are passive speakers driven by your amp or receiver. The sub has volume and crossover frequency adjustments. The internal sub amp is automatic shutoff based on a sense at the speaker's terminals - so if no signal is sensed the amp shuts off. Ideal for the purpose it was designed for - home theater - tv goes off, the sub goes off. Works just great for audio as well - amp goes off, sub goes off. Other than one woofer, all drivers are original and all are working and sound flawless. The replaced woofer is the smooth cone (not ribbed) and it is from an Infinity subwoofer HTS20Sub and is rated 300 watts continuous - so nearly identical. These are Mahogany veneered cabinets and heavy speakers - 78 lbs each. Specs are below:
