According to Maxell, these tapes are ideal for recording from CD’s and digital-tape Masters.
As I transitioned from non-metal tapes decades ago, I know very little about the quality, but I’m assuming it’s quite good. I can’t tell you what the timeframe of availability was as these originated from a friend of mine who no longer uses them. That’s about all the information I have on these tapes at this time other than that they are definitively high-quality.
What I am familiar with regarding Maxwell cassette tapes is that I used to use the UDXL llS tapes, of which I have several used available that were recorded once and hardly played at all, as I focused more on recording than playback, due to circumstances many years ago. As such, although they were recorded on, I don’t even remember if any of them were ever played. I haven’t listed these tapes as of yet, so if you’re interested, just inquire and I’ll give you the best information I can at this time. As non-metal tapes, these were my choice by Maxell before switching to Sony metal tapes, which I have separately listed.
