These Time-Life, The Great Cities Books, 14 titles, are in Mint Condition. They are great for home school/home schooling. Also great for tutors, instructors, geography classes or collectors of time-life books and great city enthusiasts. Binding is in excellent condition, all books are in great shape. (photos show more or less books and are there to show the color and structure of the books--the 14 titles I have are listed below) They were never read. Perfect, unused condition. Each book was purchased at $18.00-$25.00 ea. making this set a real bargain. Stored in a cool, dry place. Comes from a smoke-free/pet-free home.
About Time-Life Books:
In 1961 Time-Life Books started assembling multi-volume themed collections that covered everything from home repair to great cities to animals and to great places in the world. Then, it hawked them on TV and sold them by direct mail. In time, these collections grew so popular that no middle class rec room seemed complete without at least one collection monopolizing the bookcase. The various series were monuments to delayed gratification as they arrived at your doorstep, one book at a time. The books were fun to read, with neat photography and illustrations, laden with sub-head and side bar intensive text. Think of them as the "USA Today" of textbooks. "If reading real books was like getting a Harvard Education, then purchasing a Time-Life Series was the equivalent of a two-year community college degree." Most of the books were composed by recognized experts in their fields. Many of the photos in these books were rare and important images.
