Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
Take dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records using Curve Hero, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes.
Support patients by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits.
Handle administrative duties including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during chairside assisting while supporting the dentist with tools and materials.
Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control guidelines and proper sterilization procedures for all dental equipment.
Support the team with pediatric dentistry procedures by understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to children’s oral health needs.
Skills
Proficiency with Curve Hero for managing patient data efficiently.
Experience in chairside assisting across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry settings.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately capture high-quality images; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Skilled in medical documentation, coding procedures correctly for billing purposes using medical coding standards.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics; capable of explaining procedures clearly.
