We are seeking a reliable, and team-oriented caregivers with a proven track record to provide assistance to a single patient. The patient is a woman with early-stage dementia in her active household in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Her adult children are heavily involved in her care and the management of the household. This position is a direct hire reporting to the Supervisor Of The Household. While shifts are solo, you will be working as part of a team with other shift caregivers and will participate in and help create recreational opportunities for the patient. The household has holiday parties and regular visitors, so a caregiver who is comfortable in a social environment is desired. While she is mobile, she requires support with showering, toileting, and general supervision to ensure her well-being. She is active and participates in out of house activities.
Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with showering and personal hygiene.
Providing support with toileting.
Offering supervision and companionship, being mindful of the client's early-stage dementia.
Driving the client to appointments for recreation and medical needs using the family provided vehicle therefore you must have a clean driving record
Light duty housework projects as assigned
Collaborating closely and communicating effectively with other caregivers, the client's adult children, ensure consistent and high-quality care.
Participating in and creating recreational activities for the patient.
Participating in weekly Zoom meetings that may take place off shift.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be willing to go through a background and driving record check.
Proven track record as a caregiver with references, experience caring for individuals with dementia is a plus on a resume.
Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor, with an understanding of the challenges associated with early-stage dementia.
Reliable and punctual.
Excellent collaboration skills
Comfortable in an active household with regular visitors and holiday gatherings.
Enthusiastic about engaging in and developing recreational activities.
The job involves, bending, walking, stooping and going up and down stairs.
