Opportunity
Unique short-term work opportunity on the island of Kauai. Looking for an experienced foundation/concrete set up worker to assist with rebar, forms, footings and slab setup for a residential build in Anahola. This is mostly work, part adventure — beautiful location, ocean views, and a focused 10-day project. Lodging consists of air mattress onsite in partially finished 3000 square foot garage/coachhouse.

Required Experience
You must have hands-on experience with:
Rebar layout and tying. Setting up forms and foundational footings.
Concrete form building and setting
Slab and foundation preparation
This is not entry-level work. You should be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Skills Needed – Concrete Slab & Foundation Setup (Before Pour)
The worker should be comfortable performing most or all of the following:
Site & Base Preparation
Verifying slab layout per dimensions and elevations
Understanding grade, slope, and drainage requirements
Checking compaction of sub-base (gravel or fill)
Installing or verifying vapor barriers and base materials
Formwork
Building, setting, and leveling concrete forms (wood or metal)
Squaring forms and checking dimensions
Securing forms so they don’t shift during pour
Setting form height to finished slab elevation
Rebar & Reinforcement
Reading basic foundation or slab plans
Laying out rebar grid per spacing requirements
Cutting, bending, and tying rebar correctly
Installing rebar chairs or dobies for proper clearance
Tying rebar intersections securely and consistently
Embedded Items
Setting anchor bolts, hold-downs, or embeds as required
Coordinating openings for plumbing or utilities
Ensuring embeds are aligned, level, and secure before pour
