Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Metal Plating Line Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain manual and automated chemical plating lines. You will ensure a high-quality finish on our products by precisely controlling coating thickness, solution levels, and machine settings. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision work and strictly follows industrial safety and chemical handling protocols.
Key Responsibilities
• Line Operation: Load, rack, and unload parts onto processing lines; operate automated or manual hoists to submerge parts into chemical baths.
• Process Monitoring: Adjust and control line settings including electrical currents (amperage/voltage), and temperatures according to job specifications.
• Quality Control: Visually inspect finished components for plating defects like blistering, burning, or uneven coating; use micrometers or thickness gauges to verify specs.
• Chemical Handling: Monitor chemical tank levels, check pH balances, and safely add chemicals or raw materials to maintain optimal bath concentrations.
• Maintenance & Logs: Perform routine line maintenance like cleaning tanks, clearing electrical contacts, and replacing filters; document all production, quality, and chemical logs accurately.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: on-the-job training provided for the right candidate
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills for calculations, and the ability to read work orders and standard operating procedures
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work comfortably in a warm, industrial production environment.
• Safety First: Proven ability to handle chemicals safely and a commitment to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
