This is a like new Custom JD Guitar Shrek KS-2 built by Luthier Jeff Diaola. It is a stunning work of wood with beautiful craftsmanship throughout. It was handmade in his shop in Medway, MA.
The guitar is finished in natural oil resulting in a smooth satin finish which allows the beauty of the woods to show through from all angles. The body is made from four woods including Cherry, Purpleheart, Walnut and African Padauk. The neck is Purpleheart. The fretboard and headstock overlay are made from Cherry, Purpleheart, Walnut and African Padauk woods to mimic the body design. The fretboard inlay is crushed gold stone. The only flaw on the entire instrument is a very small rub in the finish on the back of the headstock pictured in the photos. It came to me that way from Jeff.
The frets are gold EVO. The electronics are; one volume, one tone and a mini-switch that selects between two push button spring loaded kill switches. One switch cuts the signal when pushed (like a traditional kill switch). The other "allows" the signal to pass so you can "tap" the pulse/rhythm. This feature is fun to experiment with especially with delay effects and synth pedals. The guitar weighs only 6 pounds 6 oz - strap it on and play all night.
