Anyone Who's Collected Old Yamaha's Know the old Serial number system they had in
Place a this time puts you in the ballpark as to when this guitar could have been made.
One of the more desirable "Red Label" Models that are more Sought after
by Comparison to the "Green" Or "Black" Label versions. You are going to be hard pressed to find a cleaner
version of one of these guitars that hasn't been through hell and Back.
Laminate Spruce Top on this one is immaculate, Truss rod works and the Frets have virtually zero ware on them.
There's one Fingernail sized ding in the neck at the 5th fret but other than that this is in excellent condition for a 56 year old guitar.
Overall this guitar plays very well with a bright Resonate tone similar to the 180's and 240's from the FG series.
Action is still good on this one but is not fantastic, This is not one of the FG's That needs a neck reset but by the way
these guitars were constructed the action is sitting right around 5/32nd's at the 12th.
Excellent Collector's Piece for anyone who are into these old Red Label FG's.
This one is not getting the playing time it deserves in the rotation.
Asking $600 OBO, Not Interested in trades at this time on this one.
I might have a Period Correct Chipboard case for this guitar as well. I will be happy to include it in on the sale if I find one.
