Newly forming post-punk/new wave band looking for a synth player to play covers of 80s new wave and post-punk songs. Some of the artists include: The Cult, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Church, The Cure, Split Enz, Modern English, The Clash, New Order, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, The Fixx, INXS, Talk Talk, Echo & the Bunnymen, Cutting Crew, Adam and the Ants, The Jam, OMD, Simple Minds, Joy Division, The Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins, Scritti Politti, a-ha, The Alarm, Spandau Ballet, Pet Shop Boys, When in Rome, 'Til Tuesday, etc.
The band is just getting started and includes female lead vocals, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals and drums. Your mission is to replicate the primary keyboard parts (on songs that feature keyboards) as closely as possible to the recorded versions and trigger samples and tracks as needed to supplement the arrangement. If you also sing (lead or backing) and/or play guitar ( or sax), that is a bonus but not necessary. We plan to practice midday (11 am - 1 pm) on select Saturdays starting in October at a rehearsal studio on the northwest side of Chicago. Once we get a feel for our schedules and ability to play as a group we can decide how often to practice and when and if we want to start performing at open mics and potential gigs.
