Laboratory Technician/Tissue Processing and Data Input Team member

Summary/Overview: The Laboratory Technician will assist in newly acquired tissue receipt and processing, and the data input of staff notes for processed and re-processed tissue. In addition, the Laboratory Technician will perform various support activities in the warehouse and offsite for laboratory functions and activities.

Principal Responsibilities:
• Execute all procedures and policies related to newly acquired tissue receipt and processing of tissue
• Problem solve any issue that may be found during receipt of tissue and tissue processing by discussing issue with supervisor
• Alert supervisor to any problems with newly received tissue specimens
• Record detailed observations from tissue assessments
• Enter observations into an online database in a clear, concise manner
• Meet with managerial lead to discuss all upcoming job duties for the day
• Adhere to all company SOPs
• Work as part of the procurement team
• Develop innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness
• Provide exceptional service to all of Innoved Institute's clients, vendors, and associates
• Act in a professional manner with all of Innoved Institute's clients, vendors, and associates

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Provide support for offsite laboratory events
• Provide support for day-to-day processing of outgoing orders
• Provide support for returning order processes
• Provide support for offsite tissue scanning duties
• Provide support for tissue inventory processes
• Provide support for tissue disposition processes

Position Dimensions:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field, or, an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Strong project management skills. Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
• Strong computer skills, including but not limited to: word processors, spreadsheets, and databases
• Proven ability to work with colleagues in a friendly and constructive manner
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Position Requirements:
• Full time, exempt position
• Travel requirements, 30% of the time
