Kult of Athena is hiring a Sword Sharpener / Edge Technician at our warehouse in Elgin, IL. This role blends craftsmanship, precision, hands-on tool work, and attention to detail. You’ll sharpen swords and blades to our internal standards and support our growing sharpening service. No prior sharpening experience required — we will train the right person.
Responsibilities
Sharpen swords, large knives, and blades using belt grinders, abrasive belts, and powered finishing tools.
Maintain consistent blade profiles and edge geometry according to KOA standards.
Inspect incoming blades for imperfections; communicate QC issues.
Track sharpening jobs and maintain workflow pace.
Maintain a safe, organized workstation (PPE required & provided).
Replace abrasive belts and consumables to maintain edge quality and efficiency.
Follow all safety protocols related to metal grinding, dust collection & tool use.
Collaborate with warehouse team to support turnaround expectations.
