I’m selling my 1993 Chevrolet K1500 extended cab 4wd, current mileage is 206,680 as of 6/18/24. The truck runs well and the interior is in very nice condition. I bought the vehicle in 2014 with 186,257 miles and have driven it 20,423 miles (average of just over 2,000 per year). It has been regularly maintained at a local mechanic and I have replaced: radiator, belt, power steering hoses (2024); front brake lines, spare tire (2023); rear brakes, transmission service (2021); battery (Autocraft Silver), all four tires at 200,269 miles, muffler (2019); 4wd actuator, thermostat, rear brake lines (2018); fuel pump and lines, right front brake line, ignition coil, cap, and rotor (2017); water pump (2015). I have service records for all these repairs. I have used it for hauling firewood, compost and mulch for personal use (it hasn’t been used for business) and for getting around in the winter when the roads aren’t plowed (4wd works well). I’m selling it because I am getting into the old truck scene and no longer need it. I just drove it 430 miles round trip to Michigan a few weeks ago and would have no worries driving it anywhere. I think this truck has a lot of life left in it and would be fine for daily driving but only limited hauling (see below). I purchased a CARFAX report and will be happy to make that available.
But, there is significant rust on cab corners, cab supports, rocker panels, wheel wells and bed. The frame does have flaky rust, but no holes or cracks in the frame that I am aware of (I checked recently). The tailgate no longer attaches and is held in place by ratchet ties (see pictures). Although I continue to use the truck to haul loads of firewood, compost and mulch in the bed, I would recommend replacing the bed if it will be used extensively. Heat works but air conditioner has not worked since I purchased it. Since I don’t drive it a lot I never bothered with getting A/C fixed. The radio and cassette player do not work; I removed the fuse to the radio because it was causing the battery to drain, and since removing the fuse I have had no problems with the battery. The fan sometimes hits the shroud since having the radiator replaced; I will try to address this, although I think the problem is more of an irritation than a mechanical issue. I am asking $2400 OBO. If the ad is up, it is still available. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have. Come take a look and go for a ride!
