This is extremely durable unlike flatpack furniture from Amazon, Walmart, Ikea, or Wayfair.
Plus there is NO ASSEMBLY required, so you'll save 3-4 hours of work. Buy durable furniture so it lasts, especially while moving. Moving assembled furniture, it's likely to break.
5 drawers including a center drawer for writing utensils. The drawers are easily removable to make moving easier. The desk weighs about 60 lbs with all the drawers out.
The top and drawer faces are constructed of 100% solid wood for extra strength and longevity [see picture 11, which shows wood grain in the underside of the top- showing it's not particle board].
The body is constructed of higher quality particle, but the drawers have dovetail joints, making each edge as solid as the underlying wood. Newer desks put together with bolts and or dowel rods, making them cheap and flimsy- able to fall apart over time. Glued dovetail joints are extremely durable for drawers.
Smooth wooden glides, not that garbage on Ikea junk that eventually falls off the outside of the drawer. Effortless motion on all drawers. These are things kids and teens need while in school.
