About the Home:
Nestled in between Kennedy Ave. and Indianapolis Blvd., the home is on a quiet street in Highland with easy access to the SSL, 94, Ridge Road, Parks, Trails, Lincoln Community Center, and lil Downtown Highland.
The bi-level bungalow has a large, fully-fenced back yard with shed-storage and central heat/air.
The upstairs is owner-occupied by me, and includes two bedrooms and one full bathroom with kitchen, living room.
Mid-level contains the back /bonus room that connects the upstairs and the downstairs. The door in the back/bonus room opens to the backyard, which allows separate entry to the basement apartment. That door has a coded lock.
Currently the bonus room is set up as an open, shared, gym space.
The large finished basement contains the shared laundry room (off to the side) and the private basement apartment, including a brand-new bathroom.
The apartment is about 300 sq. ft., not including the bathroom, and is newly carpeted. It's an open space, large enough for both a sleeping and living space. The bathroom is brand new and tiled. The basement is recently renovated to code with w/ sump pump, drains and a large egress window. There is a large closet, plus private storage closet and shared storage in laundry and in the shed in the yard, which is locked.
There are no animals currently living in this home. Can discuss.
Neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves.
Parking is street parking and there is plenty of spots.
Please note - this is a short basement, about 6ish feet tall.
Please note- there is no dishwasher in the shared-kitchen. The optimal cleanliness of the kitchen must be maintained- this is a dealbreaker.
Please note- This is a strictly non-tobacco smoking house. (Not even if you smoke tobacco products outside the house)

About Me: I am female, 38- pronouns are She/Her. I work a corporate job that is Hybrid (remote and downtown Chicago). I moved to the MW from the PNW in October 2024 for work. I live a quiet, professional life in the home and keep busy outside of the work hours with volunteering and social engagements. I have a boyfriend who lives in WI and he is often down on the weekends- the nicest guy.
I am up at 6:00 am each day, working until 4:30 or so. I am occasionally around in the evenings and weekends and travel often. I am a rugby coach and referee and workout at a local gym. I like all kinds of music, but mainly go to EDM shows. I am an extrovert. I do not smoke or drink. I consider myself to be honest, accepting, straight forward, inclusive person. I am quite liberal- I even volunteer for the Democratic Party. I eat organic, cook at home, compost, recycle and limit my plastic and energy use.
About You:
Employed, respectful, non-smoker who is ideally quiet or absent during the work days and respects quiet hours.
