For sale is a coin you don't see very often--an 1857 Flying Eagle Cent. The Flying Eagle Cent is a very unique and rare coin, so rare in fact that most people never even heard of it. That is because they only made the Flying Eagle cent for three years: 1856 to 1858. In 1856 they only made 2,000 coins so most people don't even consider that an issue year. So really 1857 & 1858 were it, and between those two years only 42 million coins were minted. That is why this coin is so rare.

As you can see from the pics the coin is in very good condition, and it would come in at a nice VG grade, which is a very decent grade to find these coins in. The date and all lettering on the coin are clear and bold, including many of the feather details on the eagle. The coin still has much of its golden patina and it has no major damage, and it has not been cleaned.
