For sale is an incredibly rare find -- a 1938-D Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar. What makes this coin so incredibly rare is that it is the third most rare (and most valuable) of all Walker Halves. This is because they only minted 491,000 of them, which is third lowest of all the releases. Then countless more were melted down for their silver content during WWII that there is no telling how many still remain. And whenever you find them in higher grades like this it always takes it up a notch. And like all Walker Halves this coin is 90% silver.
As you can see from the pics the coin is in excellent shape with all lettering, images, date, and mint mark nice and bold, including some of the feathers on the eagle's breast which is one of the first things to wear down on these coins. It would come in at a really nice XF grade, which is so tough to find these coins in. The coin has a nice ash patina to it and it has no excessive damage, and no signs of cleaning.
This is one of the rarest silver half dollars ever minted! Please email me with interest or with any questions. Thanks!
