For sale is an amazing 1965 U.S. Special Mint Set in the original Mint packaging. The Special Mint Sets, also known as "SMS" Sets, were produced in 1965 to 1967. The Mint did not mint proof sets 1965 to 1967, and instead minted Special Mint Sets which had highly polished MS coins, that sort of resembled proof coins, but weren't actually proof. These were considered SMS coins and are far more rare than the regular MS coins because they minted so few. An added benefit of this set is that the Half Dollar is 40% silver. As mentioned above the set comes in its original Mint packaging, which is the outer envelope & card inserts from the Mint.

As you can see from the pics the coins are in absolutely amazing condition. They all have that gorgeous highly polished finish you hope for in SMS coins. The coins will have no major toning and no major blemishes.
