For sale is a great pair of the 1953-A & B $2 Red Seal U.S. Notes. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. This style of $2 Red Seal Notes only had series years of 1953 & 1963. A unique feature of the 1953 note is it does not have the motto "In God We Trust" on the reverse.
As you can see from the pics the notes are in really good shape. Both Notes is a nice higher grade and could be considered higher than average circulated. Both Notes are very crisp and the green and red colors are vibrant and bold. They do have minor folds to them, but have no major rips or tears to them at all.
This is a nice high grade vintage Note pair great for any currency collection. Please email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
