For sale is a great pair of the 1879 & 1880 Indian Head Cents. The Indian Head Cent ran from 1859 to 1909 before being replaced by the Lincoln Wheat Cent. It changed size, weight, and metal composition a couple times making it a very interesting coin. The great thing about this set is the 1879 is a semi-key date coin of the series because they minted just 16.2 million coins, which sounds like a lot but is actually low when it comes to minting Cents. The most rare coins in the series are those from the 1870's, and this coin is no exception. The coins from the early 1880's are also scarce in their own rite.
As you can see from the pics the coins are in really nice shape. Both coins are nice VG grades. All lettering, date, and images are nice and clear. You can see some portions of the letters in LIBERTY on the obverse on both coins, which is a big thing because this is usually the first thing to wear down on these coins. Neither of the coins have any excessive damage or signs of cleaning.
This is a great set of coins at a great price. Thanks!
