For sale is a great pair of the 1916 & 1916-D Buffalo Nickels. The Buffalo Nickel was minted from 1913 to 1938 before it was replaced by the Jefferson Nickel. Many of the early dates in the teens are key dates of the series, and these two dates are no exception because of their low mintage numbers, and because the early dates had their dates wear off so quickly that so many are not recognizable anymore. So whenever you find them with recognizable dates like this it is always a nice find.
As you can see from the pics the coins are in good condition with all lettering and raised images clear and present, and they would both come in as G grades. The date on the 1916 is faded but still recognizable as a 1916 and the 16-D has had the date acid dated so the entire date is clear and the mint mark is nice and bold as well. The price of the coin was reduced nicely due to the acid dating, otherwise it would be priced probably double. Neither have any major damage and have not been cleaned.
This really is a must-have pair for any Buffalo Nickel collection. Please mail me for any questions or interest. Thanks!
