For sale is an awesome set of all four types of the $1 Silver Certificate Small Notes. Silver Certificates was a type of old currency where any person could take the Certificate into a Federal Reserve Bank and exchange the Certificate for the value of that denomination in silver. So if you have a $1 Silver Certificate, the bank would exchange it for $1 worth of silver. You could also spend it just like any other US bill. There were 4 different dates of the $1 Silver Certificate Small Notes: 1928, 1934, 1935, & 1957--and this set gives you one of all four! The 1928 & 1934 Notes are called "funnybacks" because of the type of reverse of the bill that is different than the reverse on today's $1 bill. People who are unfamiliar with it think the reverse "looks funny"--hence the reason for the name "funnyback." The seals on the notes are blue, which is unique just to Silver Certificates. And a unique feature of the 1957 Note is it is the first year where the $1 Note featured the motto "In God We Trust" on the reverse.

As you can see from the pics all 4 notes are in really good condition. The Funnybacks would be considered average circulated and the 1935 & 1957 would both be considered higher grades. All all 4 Notes the blue colors on the front and deep greens on the reverse are bold and vibrant. The notes do have vertical and horizontal folds to them, none have major damage.

This is a great set of vintage notes to add to to any currency collection. Please email me with questions or interest. Thanks!
