Ridgid 23 gauge pin nailer - $1 (Bradley)

condition: salvage
make / manufacturer: Ridgid
model name / number: R138HPA
Yes, you read that correctly! $1 charge for this item (Actually, you can have it for no charge!). All you have to do is come and get it! A Ridgid 23 gauge headless pin nailer Model #R138HPA for parts or repair. It can drive pin nails from 5/8" to 1 3/8" long and leave a very small hole to fill in the wood (quite often, there is no need to fill the hole since it is barely detectable because of the small gauge). This tool is perfect for attaching small pieces of trim to woodworking projects or trim pieces such as small wainscoting to a wall to since there's a lower risk of splitting the wood(since the nails are headless, it is recommended to use glue or construction adhesive in combination with the pin nails). The nails it drives are also ideal to hold pieces in place while glue sets up; eliminating or reducing the use of clamps. Sale is cash and local pick-up only. The reason for the "no charge" is because this nailer won't drive the nails flush or slightly below the surface. I've tried everything I know to correct the problem but to no avail. I purchased this tool reconditioned and am not sure what is wrong. On a repair parts website, there's 2 kits available that could be a solution: an overhaul kit that lists for $65.86 and driver maintenance kit that lists for $34.94. I'm not sure which kit to use, but if you contact the seller of these kits by email or phone and describe what is going on, I believe they can assist in telling you which kit to use. I've upgraded to a cordless pin nailer which is why I don't want to repair this tool and would like to clear it out of my tool box. I'm not too computer literate, however, if you email me a phone number I'll gladly send you a pix message with photos.
