This runs on 120 volt alternating current electricity ( ordinary household electric ). It has a two-prong plug and about a 10 - foot cord.
The hepa filter looks clean but this opinion should not be relied upon. While running there are no warning lights. The gas was NOT tested for O2 purity, however no warning lights are on while running. It has a built-in breaker [see picture 6].
Test: This was plugged in to an outlet and the power switch was turned on. The yellow light came on indicating a warm-up period for up to 15 minutes according to the instructions. After about 2 minutes the green light came on [see picture 8]. The hours are 1935.4 [see picture 9].
The control was turned to 2 LPM then 5 LPM. The ball moved proportionately to the movement of the knob. [see pics 10, and 11]. There were no unusual sounds.
Any oxygen gas analyzer costing less than $100 can be used to measure the oxygen purity coming out of this machine. Normal concentration of air coming out of the machine is 96 to 99% pure oxygen.
Q: How Do You Know if Your Oxygen Concentrator Needs to Be Assessed For Purity?
A: While the only way to honestly know if your concentrator is not delivering the proper purity is by medical evaluation, there is one clue you should be aware of that could signal the need for an assessment. If you have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or some other pulmonary disease requiring oxygen, and you are not currently sick or experiencing an exacerbation, and you notice that you are feeling more fatigued or winded with activities that used to be easy—it might be time for an oxygen purity test.
That said, by the time this occurs, you might be facing an emergent need for a replacement, so it is not an ideal way to discover your oxygen concentrater needs a purity assessment. So buying a tester or having a home medical equipment supplier come out and test it are the proper ways.
In addition to be used for medical purposes, this can be used supply oxygen in welding / cutting torch applications.
