WT McEntee Transport is a small family-owned business based in the West Pullman area of Chicago, Illinois. We provide local and long-distance transportation of household and office goods; warehousing and storage services; packing and packaging services; distribution, and logistics consulting; merchandise sales and other related services.
Job Description:
We are currently looking for a reliable 26-foot box truck driver to run our Amazon loads starting from Channahon, IL or Kenosha, WI (start location will vary). These local loads are majority overnight between 6-13 hours, traveling between Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana. Home every day, pay every Friday.
You will play a crucial role in our operations, helping us deliver excellent service to our customers. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, ensuring all loads are secured and delivered as per client specifications. We are looking for a motivated and professional driver who is reliable and on time.
Start Date:
Before Oct 5th, depending on how fast you submit your creditials.
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload gaylord boxes from warehouse to post offices.
- Safely transport goods to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
- Manage routes and routines to optimize costs and time while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and laws.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Ensure the security of the cargo during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing and resolving client concerns in a professional manner.
- Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
- Communicate effectively to receive assignments and updates.
Requirements:
-Minimum of 21 years of age
-Must possess a valid CDL “C” license with a clear MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
-Must possess valid Medical Card as required by DOT or willing to get one within the first week.
-At least 6 months Verifiable experience in box trucks or similar equipment
-Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent time management skills to meet pickup and delivery schedules.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo using pallet jack and liftgate.
- Good geographical knowledge of the local and regional area.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Compensation:
$17 per hour with pay weekly every Friday.
Work Days:
Sunday - Saturday. Either could do 6-to-8-hour trip for 6 days or 11-to-13-hour trip for 5 days. With an option for overtime.
Truck is located in the West Pullman area. Preference given to those who lives close to truck location.
