Found this at an Estate Sale years ago.
Oval convex pictures were most popular from 1880 to 1940, particularly during the Victorian era. They were a trendy way to display family portraits, and the curved glass was believed to create a sense of depth and dimension. The popularity of this style peaked between 1880 and 1920.
