This sled dates to the late 1950's. Remember my dad bringing it home and taking me down the hill of a street barricaded to allow sledding either sitting between his legs or laying on his back. Great childhood memories.

Sled was made by the Garten Toy Company founded in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 1879 that made wagons, pedal cars, soap box racers, and tricycles that closed in 1973 as plastics and government regulations took their toll on business. Sled name and design was popular for rounded metal front and name as this period was fascinated with space, and flying saucers. Metal steering handle was very popular.
