I am very pleased to offer this vintage rare Red Wing Spongeband cake stand with bottom stamp, "MADE IN RED WING", ca. 1920's. This is one of the rarest Red Wing stoneware items in existence. It is in excellent condition for it's age and is without cracks, chips or repairs. Two very minor factory clay separations, a factory glaze skip, and minor staining on the top keeps it from being mint (see photos). The underneath is boldly stamped "MADE IN RED WING".

The Red Wing Union Stoneware Company was formed in 1906 when Red Wing Stoneware Company merged with the Minnesota Stoneware Company. The Red Wing Stoneware Company originally started in Red Wing, Minnesota, in 1861 by German immigrant John Paul. The name changed again in 1936 when the name "Red Wing Potteries, Inc." was finally decided upon. Red Wing Potteries, Inc. operated until 1967. The name was changed again in 1996 this time to "Red Wing Pottery" as the company was reborn and then closed again in 2019.
This is an excellent piece of primitive Americana stoneware that would look great in your collection. It will fit nicely into any rustic, vintage, or shabby chic style themed décor.
I am offering this item(s) "AS IS" without warranties expressed or implied.
