Freshly restored step-through chainless, shaft-drive bicycle. All it needs is your choice of handlebar basket and a new owner.
The steel frame, fork, and fenders were all stripped to bare metal, thoroughly sanded, primed with Summit epoxy primer, painted with BMW Pepper White and Arctic Race Blue Metallic, and then clearcoated with KBS Diamond Clear. All of the following parts are brand-new:
Tires: Panaracer Randonnee Col de la Vie, 26 x 1 3/8"
Brakes: Clarks CLK-115
Shifter: Microshift SL-N757
Saddle: WTB Volt
Pedals: Spank Spoon DC
Seat post: Kalloy chrome steel
all cables and Jagwire housings
The bike is driven by a rare shaft-drive assembly, mated to a Shimano Nexus 7-speed internally-geared-hub. The Nexus hub was removed and fully serviced, and lubricated. The bottom bracket assembly was also removed, and thoroughly cleaned and lubricated -- it did not require replacement as this bike saw few miles in its original state.
Suffice it to say that I am selling this bicycle for less than the cost of the parts and the paint -- never mind the dozens of hours of labor -- but I restored it so that someone can ride it, and enjoy it, or just enjoy looking at it. It is quite a unique bike, and the original manufacturer is long since out-of-business. They did not build very many of these, and I doubt many survive.
This bike is rather small, and will be best suited for a person no taller than 5'6". It is also not a race bike, and it is best suited to leisurely trips to the farmer's market, or what-have-you.
Call, text, or mail. If you call, leave a message. Please be specific, as I have other ads up. Delivery is negotiable if you are car-free. I am also less than a mile from a Metra station, if that works for you.
If you only ask about availability, you will not receive a reply. This bike is available as long as this ad is visible.
