I purchased a large collection of Lou Castellaneta's artwork from his home estate sale. In it was several note pads, drawing tablets with sketches, loose drawings, local Oak Park business advertising drawings, pages he created for a book he was illustrating, greeting cards and more. I even have a license plate that belonged to Dan. Its from his California car he brought back to Illinois. A car he gave his mom and dad as a gift.
Lou Castellaneta is the father of Dan Castellaneta (Homer Simpson of the Simpsons). In this collection are images and references to his son as Dan and Homer. No drawings of Homer, but of Dan and his family.
There are also several magazines of the Simpsons from the very beginning. Most dated from 1990 an include Entertainment Weekly, Time, etc.
I also have a painting that Dan Castellaneta did of Marilyn Monroe. A medium size oil on canvas that he signed. The size is roughly 24x32.
I am selling the collection in two parts. One of all Lou's artwork and the other of Dan's painting.
This is something extremely rare. His works were not sold to the public. This is the starting point for this amazing artist. You can own a piece of history early.
I am asking $2500 for all of Lou's artwork and $2000 for Dan's painting.
These are original art works. Not copies. The value will only go up from here. Lou was a true artist that stands on his own without a doubt, but even better that this is part of The Simpsons history too. Rare Simpsons history.
I collect art myself. I am interested in Japanese paintings, watercolors and silk screen concert tour posters from the 1960's-1990's. Trades considered.
