We are selling our one owner, silver 2011 Volkswagen Golf, automatic 4 D, 2.5L with only 97,000 miles for WELL under blue book value. This has been an incredibly reliable car for us and is in excellent condition. Cosmetically there is a slight scratch on the hood and it is missing one hubcap. It has been regularly maintained. We have recently serviced some costly maintenance items that are common for a car of this age so you won't have to: the battery is new from 2020, brakes, vacuum pump, ignition switch and solenoid were replaced in 2024, and the thermostat, timing chain and camshaft in 2025. The car recently did not pass emissions for us for the first time ever. It drives great but takes a second or two to catch at the start. We suspect something needs to be adjusted with the recent timing chain component we had installed but our mechanic who did this work back in February is denying us a fix under warranty. As it will be cost prohibitive for us to investigate this problem further, we are selling the car AS IS and well below market value to a lucky mechanic or car handy person who might be able to make the fix cheaply to pass emissions.
