Sr Engineer - Transmission Planning

The Senior Engineer provides technical leadership in the planning, design, and execution of projects involving Exelon's utility infrastructure including electric or gas distribution, transmission, substions, and reled systems. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, leading complex engineering studies, and ensuring stregic alignment with safety, reliability, and compliance goals. Work can include:

• Leading advanced electric, gas, and/or communicions system performance analysis and outage investigions
• Developing and implementing engineering stregies for grid modernizion
• Managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocion for major projects
• Faciliting cross-functional collaborion and stakeholder engagement
• Conducting field inspections and resolving high-impact technical challenges
• May be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position must sit out of our Oakbrook Terrace - IL office.  This position is not eligible for relocion assistance.

• Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise, requiring maintaining ste-of-the-art engineering credential in the specialized technical area 
• Leads and performs engineering tasks and projects associed with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects th require specialized knowledge in many areas, may include field testing, troubleshooting, and peer review 
• Evalues complex technical issues th require highly specialized knowledge in very specific areas and recommends actions or programs for their resolution, which may necessite the review/evaluion of engineering design documents: 
• Evalues, develops, implements, and leads projects th have significant financial and operional impact, may also develop initial commissioning plans. Plans, writes, and performs tasks for documention deliverables and projects: 
• Provides detailed technical training, mentorship, peer review, and/or guidance to others
• Participes in department planning, through field/site walkdowns, tend meetings/conference calls, provide budget recommendions, and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results 
• May participe in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in area of company interest 

• Influences project decisions having a significant impact on the company.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer sisfaction

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (2) (3) Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
• Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes methods, and practices unique to areas of expertise.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience (1) (3) (See Note 3. Thorough knowledge and experience in unique areas of engineering expertise.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Minimum of three reled career experiences (4) (i.e., changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department) OR
• Lead Member of a recognized industry committee OR
• Professional Engineer's License (2), advanced technical degree, MBA or Project Management Certificion (1) Master's degree in Engineering reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year. (2) License must be issued by the ste in which you are practicing. (3) PE License reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year. (4) Career reled experiences is defined as changes in technical job responsibilities and does not have to include a change in department.
• Note: Items (1) and (3) are mutually inclusive, whereby the maximum experience requirement reduction is one (1) year (e.g., in the case of an employee with both a master's degree in Engineering AND a PE license, the minimum experience requirement would be reduced by one (1) year).

• Gradue degree (1) or Gradue level work in Engineering, Business Administrion or Project Management Certificion
• Possess Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificion and/or Professional Engineer license (2) (3)
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communice with all management levels.
• Strong written and oral communicion/presention skills, report generion & technical writing skills
• Participion in industry committee or working groups or has published technical documents.
• Advanced experience in utility infrastructure, such as system analysis, planning, design coordinion, standards development, or project execution.
• Professional experience in Transmission Engineering, Distribution Capacity Planning, Substion Engineering or reled areas.
• Experience with transmission planning software such as PSS E, TARA, PROMOD, Aspen Oneliner, and or similar power system analytical tools
• Experience in managing, developing, or upding facilities rings for transmission or distribution assets
• Experience with outage coordinion, monitoring system conditions, and or contingency analysis, etc. within transmission system operions or distribution system operions

• Annual salary will vary based on a candide’s skills, qualificions, experience, and other factors: $103,200.00/Yr. – $141,900.00/Yr.
