This desk was designed by Leo Jiranek. It is fitted with on three drawers as the bookcase end takes up right drawer space Top measures 42”by 20" and height is 29". Available in Champagne and Wheat finishes. eo Jiranek studied engineering at Princeton L University were he graduated in 1922. In 1934 he and Donald Deskey formed Amodec Inc., to allow for the manufacture and promotion of their own modern furniture designs. Marketing prob-lems, though, soon lead to Amodee's demise.
Jiranek began working with Heywood-Wakefield as a consultant sometime around 1935, with his association with the company lasting well into the 1950s. Besides designing for the Modern line, Jiranek also designed rattan summer furniture, theater seating, baby carriages, and other products for Heywood-Wakefield and its Lloyd division.
With the outbreak of World War II, Jiranek assisted the company in its conversion to government work. His other clients included Kroehler Manufacturing and Basset Industries.) from Heywood Wakefield book.
