I’m looking for a strong, dependable, and caring caregiver to provide essential daily support on weekends. The most important requirement is physical strength: you must be able to lift and pivot-transfer approximately 130 lbs of largely dead weight a distance of about 2½ to 3 feet. I have an old L3 compression fracture, so a Hoyer lift cannot be used, and I have limited core strength, so I need to be balanced and steadied during every transfer. These transfer techniques will be taught to you, and most people find them straightforward once learned. I can also guide you verbally through each step.
Daily responsibilities include:
• Lifting, balancing, and pivot-transferring me safely between bed, wheelchair, and bathroom
• Emptying my catheter bag first thing in the morning and again before you leave at night
• Irrigating my catheter twice while in the bathroom, and assisting with toileting as needed
• Operating a circulation/vibration machine on my ankles and thighs in the morning, and setting up my feet and the machine at night for my neuropathy
• Performing minor leg stretches and movements to support circulation
• Light meal preparation
The role involves roughly 4–7 transfers per day.
Requirements:
• Physically able to lift, balance, and pivot-transfer ~130 lbs safely (this is essential)
• Strong, reliable, and genuinely caring
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Valid driver’s license
• References and/or a resume appreciated
• A background check will be conducted
If you’re dependable, honest, caring, and want to make a meaningful difference, I’d love to hear from you.
