Decades
ago I bought a Giulietta sprint from a guy. He had just changed the
engine in it. He had a Spyder also that he took the replacement engine
from. His wife was having a baby or something and he had to give up on
the project. He had the new engine in the Sprint and said "just put the
head back on and you can drive it home." Well, a friend and I
did
that in his garage, but there was more to it. We had it towed
home. Part of the deal was getting some of the extra parts
from
the Spyder. This transmission came from that car, the Spyder. There is
no reason to believe there is anything wrong with it but I have no way
to test it. I had the bad engine that he took out of
the Sprint, there were cracks in the water jacket, an obvious problem.
So that would have been reason enough to canibalize the Spyder to get
the engine.
