I am Paul, 29, from Kingstown, St.Vincent. I like food, music, and creating. I have been in the U.S for 11 years, and completed a bachelor's and master's degree in computer science from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA and Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL respectively during this period. I was employed as the Technical Coordinator for the Student Affairs division -- Residence Life specifically -- at Illinois Tech from 2023 to 2025.
Current situation:
The Technical Coordinator position I was employed for was terminated in December, 2025 as a result of institutional re-organization. I was living on campus and was moved out in February, 2026. Fortunately, I found a short-term rental in Naperville, IL I could afford for a few months with the funds I received from unemployment benefits and tax refunds. I ran out of funds and was moved out of the short-term rental in June 13, and since then, I have been wandering around Naperville and nearby towns looking for work opportunities, and I rest/sleep anywhere I can. I do not have a phone, debit/credit card, or money; basically, I have nothing.
Reason for this post:
I am writing this to request housing in exchange for work, any form of work. I can do house-keeping, gardening or farm/ranch work, computer/IT, pet sitting, and I am willing to learn any work that is not listed.
