Hey there! I’m renting a private bedroom PLUS basement studio space in my home. This is a great space for ARTISTS, ARTISANS, musicians, crafters… looking for a place to live & work on your craft. This is my private residence, I have been here over 10 yrs, I’m renting out my extra space. Who I am : I am a middle aged Queer female artist, industry worker & social justice crusader. I am spiritual & witchy. I paint, workshop & dance in my home pretty regularly. This is a cat home, 3 cats live here. They are incredibly friendly & outgoing but will be all over your stuff, so heads up. What I am offering : 1 Unfurnished Bedroom approx 10’x12’, it fits a queen size bed plus a couple dressers easily, two big windows add tons of sun and fresh air. There is a big step-up closet with rod & shelves, beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house, everything has just been painted, its Nice! There is also a non-private 12x12 studio space in the basement, it’s raw(concrete floor, cinderblock walls, dropped ceiling) and can be used in any number of ways. I currently use the basement as my painting studio & cat playground. Shared spaces are kitchen, bathroom, laundry room. Limited personal access (rules apply & will be discussed) of living room, dining room & a big beautiful yard. 1 parking space is available in the driveway, garage space can be discussed for an additional monthly fee.
The neighborhood is super walkable! Metra is less than 10 min walk, lots of access to nature, grocery, pharmacy & restaurants all nearby. All utilities (including wifi) are included, as long as there are real efforts to conserve & not abuse access. The home is fully furnished & has all the appliances needed nowadays.
What I request : Month to month is ok but preference will go to a longer term agreement of 6 months, 1st & last month’s rent to move in, proof of income & references. Ideal person will be - Open minded, creative, kind, communicative, clean & respectful individual to share my space with. Nonsmoker, sober preference but not mandatory. 420 & “The Queers” friendly.
